LIAWA 2026 INDUSTRY AWARDS

These awards are designed for small to medium residential landscaping businesses, making it easier to showcase quality projects without competing in large commercial categories.
Finalists will be presented at The Perth Garden Show (17–19 April 2026), offering a high-profile platform to highlight innovation, sustainability, craftsmanship, and professionalism—while showcasing the value of professional association membership.
LIAWA supports sustainable landscaping through the Waterwise Landscaper and Designer training course, delivered in partnership with the Water Corporation. Accredited members are promoted on the Water Corporation’s website as endorsed Waterwise practitioners.

- Residential Design & Construction – up to $30,000

Entry Guidelines

Entries must be submitted via the LIAWA website.

Entry fees are payable online through the website’s shopping cart payment gateway.

Late entries will not be accepted, unless a submission was started before the closing date and is completed afterward at the organiser’s discretion.

Judges will assess entries based on the awards criteria and decide solely on merit. If judges cannot agree on a winner, they will deliberate further until a decision is reached.

The judges’ decision is final and binding. If entries do not meet the required standard, judges may choose not to award a finalist. Only one winner will be selected per category.
Project Criteria
Categories 1–3: Residential Design & Construction
To be eligible, projects must:
- Be completed (not in progress).
- Feature a landscape design that is the original work of the submitting LIAWA member business (or, for joint entries, one of the member businesses).
- Be constructed/installed by the submitting LIAWA member business (or, for joint entries, one of the member businesses).
- Have been completed within three years of the closing date (i.e., after 11 March 2023).
- Not have previously won or been commended in the same category.
- Projects previously awarded or commended in Categories 1–3 may be entered in a different category if eligible (e.g., a past Design & Construct winner may be entered in Category 4 if it has not previously won or been commended in that category).
Category 4: Residential Garden Maintenance
To be eligible, projects must:
- Be currently maintained by the submitting LIAWA member business at the time of submission.
- Have been maintained by the member business for at least 12 continuous months prior to submission.
- Not have previously won or been commended in Category 4 for two consecutive Residential Awards seasons.
- They may be entered in another eligible category (e.g., Category 5) if they have not previously won or been commended there.
Category 5: Residential Turf Maintenance
To be eligible, projects must:
- Be currently maintained by the submitting LIAWA member business at the time of submission.
- Have been maintained by the member business for at least 12 continuous months prior to submission.
- Not have previously won or been commended in Category 5 for two consecutive Residential Awards seasons.
- They may be entered in another eligible category (e.g., Category 4) if they have not previously won or been commended there.
Category 6: Green Life Supplier of the Year
To be eligible, projects must:

Required Plan Documentation (Categories 1–3: Design & Construction)
- Entrants must submit a planting plan and a hardscape plan.
- A single masterplan with hardscape detail is also acceptable.
- Additional plans or drawings (e.g., shop drawings) are encouraged to support judging.
- All plans must be submitted as PDF files.
- Raw CAD files are not accepted.
Maximum file size for each plan: 50MB.
Optional Supporting Evidence
Categories 4–5 (Residential Garden Maintenance and Turf Maintenance) may include:
- Maintenance schedules or records
- Seasonal program summaries (especially for turf maintenance)
- Before-and-after images showing landscape progress

Documents, Publicity & Copyright
Required Photographic Evidence (Categories 1–5)
- Submit 4 to 8 high-resolution photos of the project or maintenance site.
- Maximum file size per photo: 7MB.
- Photos must be in JPG or PNG format.

Intellectual Property
- LIAWA does not claim ownership of the design copyright or intellectual property.
- By entering, the applicant agrees that LIAWA may use submitted materials for promotional purposes as outlined below.
Use of Entry Materials
- LIAWA reserves the right to exhibit, publish and promote any entry content, including by sponsors, as long as it relates specifically to the Awards.
- LIAWA may request evidence of total project costings to assist with judges confirming the correct category and ensure procedural fairness.
- Finalists may be asked to provide additional materials (e.g., extra photos, drawings, or information) for exhibition or publication.
- LIAWA may reproduce entry materials in whole or part without payment of fees or licensing to the copyright holder.
Privacy and Confidentiality
- Client names and project addresses will not be published.
- Project budgets will only be published if expressly approved by the applicant.
- The organiser is not responsible for any confidentiality or intellectual property disputes arising from the entry.
Terms and Conditions (Key Conditions)
By entering the Awards, the applicant confirms they have:
- Written approval from the client to submit the project and to use the entry for publicity.
- Authority from the principal (where applicable) to enter the program and to approve any publicity.
Promotions & Award Announcement
LIAWA ’26 Resi-Scapes Award finalists and winners will be proudly presented at The Perth Garden Show, WA’s premier garden showcase, held at McCallum Park, Victoria Park from 17–19 April 2026. All presentations will take place in the highly visible Garden Design Hub (shown in green), placing finalists, winners and sponsors at the heart of the action and in front of thousands of engaged garden enthusiasts and industry peers.
Finalists and winners will have the exciting opportunity to share the story behind their projects, highlighting innovation, sustainability, craftsmanship and professional excellence on a major public stage. Winners will receive extended exposure beyond the event, with LIAWA-led promotion across social media, e-newsletters and digital channels, amplified through The Perth Garden Show’s own platforms — ensuring your work is seen, celebrated and remembered.

- All finalists will receive a certificate and a finalists badge (email logo) for marketing.
- Winners will receive a trophy and a winner’s badge (email logo) for marketing.
- The organiser will endeavour to credit the design firm(s) and where possible, acknowledge photographers.
- Photographer credit is required and must be provided by the applicant.

Media Coverage
The Perth Garden Show may feature award finalists and winners across its communications and media coverage, including Channel Nine television, social media platforms and e-newsletters. Finalists may also receive coverage through The West Australian newspaper. At the show, finalists and winners will benefit from on-site displays, prominent sponsor recognition through signage and opportunities to share ideas and inspiration drawn directly from leading landscaping professionals. The Green Life Design Hub – proudly sponsored by Water Corporation — will host the dedicated landscape display area, providing a vibrant and engaging space to showcase award-winning projects and professional excellence.
