The Landscape Industries Association of WA (LIAWA) is seeking an experienced Digital Community & Member Officer to provide digital communications, social media and member engagement services on a consultancy / contractor basis.
This flexible engagement (up to 12 hours per week) is well suited to an independent consultant, contractor, or postgraduate student with strong digital capability who is seeking meaningful work with a purpose-driven, membership-based organisation.
LIAWA supports WA’s landscaping and green life industry, helping shape sustainable, liveable outdoor spaces. This role will suit someone who values and wants to promote best practice in environmental sustainability.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Officer to deliver effective outcomes for LIAWA. You will bring expert knowledge of social media channels and manage regular updates to the LIAWA website. You will plan and deliver industry-leading digital experiences that align with LIAWA’s Brand and Customer Strategies, ensuring our online presence is consistent, engaging, and high-performing.
You will manage the end-to-end delivery of social content, contribute to strategic planning, and maintain regular electronic communication with LIAWA members and the public, providing timely, professional and supportive responses.
Scope of Services
- Develop, deliver and optimise LIAWA’s social media strategy across all platforms
- Manage and update the LIAWA website
- Create and distribute EDMs and digital communications, including the industry e-newsletter
- Create, publish and optimise multimedia content aligned with organisational objectives
- Manage corporate social media channels and paid social advertising accounts
- Liaise regularly with members and respond to enquiries from members of the public via email, social media and other electronic channels
- Support members with access to the member portal, jobs board and Waterwise online training
- Assist with events planning, coordination and delivery
- Provide digital and communication support to the Board and broader industry
About You
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, digital, communications, events management or related discipline
- Proven experience delivering social media, digital engagement and community management services
- Hands-on experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube
- Experience delivering digital marketing campaigns and always-on content programs
- Experience managing paid social advertising
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone across audiences
- Excellent ability to confidently speak directly with Executive Officer and Board
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service mindset
- Basic–intermediate design capability using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar
Experience working with not-for-profit, membership-based or events organisations will be highly regarded. Induction and role-specific training will be provided.

Consultancy / contractor engagement (ABN required or willingness to operate as a contractor)

Up to 12 hours per week, flexible by agreement

Hourly rate negotiable, commensurate with experience

Ability to work from a well-equipped home/office

Own desktop/laptop and access to photocopying facilities

Current C Class Driver’s Licence and own vehicle

Australian permanent residency, citizenship or working towards residency
